We are living in a day where “virtual reality” is replacing what is true reality.
This photo was taken in my garden. The spider was spectacular! Her web shimmered like diamonds in the sunlight, and was a radiant woven tapestry. But, without the light shining on it, her web was completely invisible. She remained hidden, only coming out when an unsuspecting victim had become entangled in her snare. She would quickly wrap her prey in silk, so they were paralyzed and had no way of escape. Then, she would suck the life out of them, and afterwards repair the web back to it’s original beauty, so that the unsuspecting could once again be trapped.
This is a truthful illustration of how satan works to deceive. He weaves an alluring web of lies, a virtual reality, and seduces the unsuspecting. Until, he has drawn them in to his trap, where they are entangled in his deception. Then, he attempts to suck the life out of them, until they die (spiritually).
The good news is, God is able to come to our rescue, and free us from the entangling web of satan’s deception. He is able to revive us through Christ Jesus, and bring us back to life! We need only to believe, and call out to Him for help!
The lies of satan are very real, and his mission is global deception. His web serves to advance his agenda, and his goal is to deceive even the unsuspecting Christian. With each passing generation, we see the delusion growing more powerful. Just like the spider, satan’s goal is to kill, steal, and destroy anyone who gets caught in his web of lies.
Don’t be deceived, the struggles we are facing are not against flesh and blood (people), but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly (unseen) places (Eph. 6:12). The spider (satan), remained hidden and unseen in the virtual reality of her invisible web, until her prey was trapped, then she killed them, their life was stolen from them, and she destroyed every trace of who they once were.
Satan’s lies always appear as shimmering diamonds, a beautiful virtual reality to our eyes, but they lead to our spiritual death. Beware! The deception is thickening, and it’s going to get stronger! Strengthen yourselves in God’s Word, and call out to Him for help!! He will come to your rescue.
The devil operates by counterfeiting the original. He is the father of all lairs. Thanks for exposing the stranger.

Spider webs always amaze me, but I hadn’t ever thought of them in this way metaphorically. I agree that there is an ever-increasing web of things/technologies/entertainments/etc. being created which distract us from the glory (such as a spider web catching the sun in drops of dew!) and beauty all around us. Thank you for this thoughtful and thought-provoking blog post.

Thank you for reading! Your artistic analysis is always very intriguing. Both you and I were on a break for awhile, I noticed. Loved the musical piece you paired with your return post. It was joyful!😊Please keep creating for all to see, hear, and read. Especially during these difficult times!! God bless.

A good analogy of likening the spiders web to that of Satan’s web of lies and deceit. Which can be seen clearly only when the light shines on it – much like when the light of the truth shines bright we can discern and know.
Lovely share Malinda 😊
